Chiminea Information

A chiminea is a type of outdoor fireplace that is a much cheaper alternative to building an outdoor fireplace or fire pit from scratch. Chimineas were originally from Mexico. They are free-standing pot-bellied units (which means they are easy to take with you if you move, or even off to a vacation home) that are usually made from clay (cheaper) or cast iron/aluminum (more expensive but less prone to cracking). A chiminea burns wood, just like an outdoor fireplace.

If you're interested, you may want to buy a chiminea online. Many Internet merchants can offer discounts since they don't keep expensive brick and mortar stores, and many offer free shipping like the ones below:

Gas Fired Cast Aluminum Chiminea from BBQGuys.com

Cast Aluminum Outdoor Chimenea from HomeClick.com. And if you don't like the look of the chiminea, also see their Portable Outdoor Fireplaces.

Another cool alternative to the chiminea is the Madison Stainless Outdoor Fireplace also from the BBQguys.
