Raised Informal Pools

Raised informal pools are basically just natural ponds that are above ground instead of in-ground. They don't necessarily attempt to blend in and look natural although they usually have irregular lines (curves instead of geometrical angles) that lend an informal feel to your garden or yard.

A stream or waterfall is often the means by which water enters the pool. As with natural pools, you will need a pump, and you will need to build walls to encompass the pool. Raised informal pools are popular when they can be incorporated into an already existing wall or partial wall. This cuts down on some of the construction costs and labor hours.
